Current Research Interests
Dr. Dominic Robinson has a research program centred on photodynamic therapy that encompasses 3 main themes. Understanding the mechanism of action of underlying (pre-) clinical PDT using the porphyrin pre-cursors and mTHPC and the clinical optimisation of therapy in Dermatology, Gastroenterology and in Head and Neck cancer. Researching the theoretical basis and developing technology for photodynamic therapy dosimetry and monitoring treatment and the investigation of receptor targeted photodynamic therapy. Research in our laboratories is currently funded by the Dutch Cancer Society (KWF), Dutch Technology Foundation (STW), The National Institutes for Health (NIH), Medical Delta and the European Union.
